Initially, the focus was to establish a biofuel facility and to become self sufficient from an energy perspective. After an analysis of the geographical landscape, it became apparent that the surrounding industries and agriculture had a shortage of potable water. The facility itself also consumed over 10,000 gallons of water per day. The challenge was to not only create a self-sufficient facility from both an energy and water perspective, however, to add new streams of revenue and reduce/eliminate operational costs.
