THE PROBLEM

Conventional farming as it exists is entirely too inefficient. Produce currently requires huge amounts of energy in order to grow and get transported across the country. Seeds require petroleum-based fertilizers, which contribute to the depletion of global fossil fuels. Pesticides and irrigation systems for conventional farming also require large amounts of water resulting in polluted runoff.

This inefficient system affects both the consumer and the environment. With population growth on the rise, new methods of food production are imperative.   


THE SOLUTION

Vertical farming renders these issues. This agtech project will be housed in an optimized warehouse for the production of 100% organic greens and herbs within a closed loop system that will ensure quality and non-contamination. All waste streams are utilized for additional streams of revenue and the “carbon-neutral” cluster model is self-sustained and water consumption is minimal. This method in turn cuts travel distance, water usage and while increasing the produce yield by nearly 100:1.


THE OPPORTUNITY

The project facility and systems are scalable, replicable, and (due to their closed loop configuration) can be developed virtually anywhere on the planet. This presents a unique opportunity in growing localized produce in areas that:
